Legal basis and things to bear in mind
- Charges: .es around 12 € a year; .com.es /.org.es /.nom.es around 8 € a year; .gob.es /.edu.es 0 €.
- Grace period: 30 days after expiry, with renewal at the normal charge.
- Redemption / quarantine period: days 31-60 from expiry, with recovery at an estimated surcharge of around 75 €.
- After 60 days from expiry: the domain is RELEASED and becomes available to the public; a new registration has to be applied for.
- Maximum renewal per period: 10 years. Renewable indefinitely.
- Recommendation: renew at least 30 days before expiry to avoid interruptions to your service (DNS, website, email).
