The short answer
The Programa Auto+ (Auto+ Programme) is the 2026 state grant to buy a vehicle with the CERO environmental label (etiqueta CERO), issued by the DGT, Spain's traffic authority. As of 5 October 2026, its 2 lines are open until 31 December at 14:00: Line 1, for individuals, gives up to €4,500 per car; Line 2, for self-employed workers (autónomos) and companies, gives up to €6,000 per car and €7,500 per van. It is awarded on a first come, first served basis.
We handle the whole procedure for you, from start to finish.
You describe your case in a chat and sign; we file it with the Spanish authorities. Fixed price from €250.00 (21% VAT included), plus the tasa (official fee) where there is one.
What is new, and the law that applies
- 23-7-2026: the BOE publishes Real Decreto 609/2026, rules of the Programa Auto+.
- 4-8-2026: Line 1 (individuals) opens, €350 M.
- 24-9-2026: the BOE publishes the extract of the Line 2 call (BDNS 931088), €50 M.
- 1-10-2026: Line 2 (autónomos and companies) opens, until 31-12-2026 at 14:00.
- 2026: the Social Climate Fund amounts (€7,000 per passenger car, €12,000 per van) do not apply this year.
What is the Auto+ Plan 2026 and who can apply for it?
The Programa Auto+ (also Auto+ Plan or Auto plus) is the grant from the Ministry of Industry and Tourism to buy electric or electrified cars, vans, motorbikes and quadricycles. Its rules are in Real Decreto 609/2026, de 22 de julio. It applies throughout Spain and is managed by the Ministry itself, not your autonomous region. It is valid until 31 December 2030, with annual calls.
It has 2 separate lines, and each applicant only fits into 1. Line 1 is for individuals of legal age, with legal residence in Spain, who do not carry out an economic activity. Line 2 is for companies with their own legal personality, of any size, and for individuals who carry out an economic activity and are registered in the Censo de Empresarios, Profesionales y Retenedores (census of businesses, professionals and withholding agents) of the Spanish tax agency (Hacienda or AEAT) or in the equivalent foral census (kept by the tax authorities of the Basque Country and Navarre).
What decides the line is not the use of the vehicle, but whether you carry out an economic activity. A registered autónomo cannot apply for Line 1 even if the car is for the family. Dealerships and points of sale with IAE heading 615.1 or 654.1 cannot be beneficiaries.
In both lines you must be up to date with Hacienda and the Spanish social security system (Seguridad Social) and not have any pending repayment of state aid. The grant is not a discount at the dealership: the Ministry pays it by bank transfer to the beneficiary after resolving the application.
How much does the Auto+ Plan give? Maximum amounts per vehicle
Each line sets a maximum amount per vehicle (see the table). In Line 2, the maximum for passenger cars and vans also depends on the size of the applicant: autónomos and micro-enterprises receive more than other companies, according to the European definition of micro-enterprise (Commission Recommendation of 6 May 2003). For an autónomo, an N1 electric van can reach €7,500 and a passenger car €6,000; for an individual, €5,000 and €4,500.
That maximum is a ceiling. The actual amount comes from adding percentages according to the engine, the price and where the vehicle is manufactured (next section), and never exceeds the cost of the vehicle without taxes.
The Real Decreto also includes higher amounts (€7,000 per passenger car and €12,000 per van) for autónomos and micro-enterprises in certain activities, linked to the Social Climate Fund. They do not apply in 2026: this year's Line 2 call does not include them. Distrust anyone who promises them to you.
How is the exact grant for your car or van calculated?
The grant is calculated by adding 3 criteria, each as a percentage of the maximum amount for your category, and never exceeds 100% of that maximum.
Electric criterion (E1): 50% if the vehicle is pure electric (battery or fuel cell) and 25% if it is a plug-in hybrid or extended-range electric.
Economic criterion (E2): for M1 passenger cars, 25% if the price is up to €35,000 and 15% if it exceeds it; for all other vehicles, 25%. The invoice price without taxes counts, with extras and services included and commercial discounts deducted.
European criterion (E3): an extra 15% if the vehicle is assembled in the European Union and another 10% if the battery also meets the European manufacturing requirements set out in the rules. It does not depend on what the seller says: the Ministry's system checks the Programa Auto+ White List (Lista Blanca), published on its grants portal, and if the model is not on it, this criterion adds nothing.
2 price caps without taxes leave the vehicle out: €45,000 for M1 passenger cars (in Line 2, only those with up to 7 seats) and €10,000 for L3e, L4e and L5e motorbikes.
Which cars, vans and motorbikes are included in the Auto+?
Only vehicles with the DGT CERO environmental label: pure battery electric (BEV), fuel cell (FCEV), extended range (EREV) and plug-in hybrids (PHEV). The label of the specific vehicle counts: a plug-in hybrid without a CERO label is not included. A non-plug-in hybrid, gas or combustion vehicle is not included.
Admitted categories: M1 passenger cars (up to 8 seats plus the driver), N1 vans up to 3,500 kg (or 4,250 kg if the excess is due only to the electric system and does not increase the payload), L3e, L4e and L5e motorbikes and L6e and L7e quadricycles. Buses (M2 and M3) and N2 and N3 trucks are excluded.
In 2026, new vehicles registered for the 1st time in Spain from 1 January 2026 are valid. Also other vehicles, such as zero kilometre, demonstration or management vehicles, with 1st registration in Spain from 1 January 2025, bought at a dealership or point of sale of the manufacturing or importing group and with a maximum of 12 months between that registration and the invoice. A used car bought from another individual is not included.
The grant is given only 1 time per vehicle: if that car already received the Auto+ with a previous owner, it cannot be requested again. The programme does not require scrapping an old vehicle nor does it cover the installation of the charging point.
What changes in the Auto+ Plan for companies and autónomos (Line 2)?
Line 2 admits, in addition to purchase, financial leasing and renting formalised in Spain with a contract of at least 3 years; the vehicle can be registered in the name of the renting or leasing company. If asked, you will have to show the monthly receipts for the 2 years following the award.
A company can obtain a grant for a maximum of 10 vehicles and an autónomo for a maximum of 3. In Line 1 the limit is 1 vehicle per person.
Line 2 grants are de minimis (EU Regulation 2023/2831): they count towards the de minimis aid limit that your business can receive, and the award resolution expressly indicates this. If you have already exhausted that margin with other grants, this one does not fit.
The money is separated: €42 M for companies and €8 M for autónomos, which provides for about 1,300 grants of €6,000. As it is distributed on a first come, first served basis, the sooner it is submitted, the better.
For this case we publish the Programa Auto+ for autónomos and companies (Line 2) service page: we check if your vehicle and your business fit, we prepare the documentation, we submit it as your representative and we follow it up until the resolution. If you are an individual, your service page is Programa Auto+ for individuals (Line 1). You can see the updated amount on the service page.
What documents must be submitted to apply for the Auto+?
All applicants: the definitive ficha técnica (technical specifications sheet, or tarjeta ITV) and permiso de circulación (registration certificate), not provisional ones; bank certificate of the collection account, in the name of the beneficiary; purchase invoice in your name (except renting and leasing); and bank proof of payment showing the applicant, the point of sale that collected, the date, the vehicle and the amount. If a businessman or professional is involved, an amount of €1,000 or more cannot be paid in cash.
If you financed the purchase: financing contract that identifies the vehicle by number plate or chassis and certificate from the financial institution with the financed amount, the date of payment to the dealership, who paid and who collected.
The €1,000 discount: for new passenger cars and vans (M1 and N1), the invoice must reflect a seller discount of at least €1,000 without taxes, with a line description (concepto) clearly linked to the Programa Auto+. This discount is not required for vehicles bought before the application period for the 2026 call opened.
Only in Line 2: the AEAT's certificado de situación censal, or tax registration status certificate (if you are an autónomo, the one issued by your hacienda foral, the foral tax authority of the Basque Country or Navarre, is also valid) and, if it is renting or leasing, the contract of at least 3 years. If a company applies, additionally: Mercantile Registry certificate proving who represents it (or a notarial power of attorney deposited in the Registry with its receipt) and de minimis aid certificate from the BDNS (Base de Datos Nacional de Subvenciones, Spain's national grants database), which is downloaded from Hacienda's online office (sede electrónica). If you accumulate more than €30,000 of requested aid, you must also prove that you meet the payment terms to suppliers.
The certificates of being up to date with Hacienda and the Seguridad Social are not needed if you authorise the Ministry to check them on the form.
Until when can the Auto+ be requested and what happens if the money runs out?
Both lines close on 31 December 2026 at 14:00 (peninsular time). Line 1 opened on 4 August with €350 M and Line 2 on 1 October with €50 M.
It is awarded in order of presentation: when registering the application, the system provisionally reserves the amount. Once the funds are exhausted, applications can still be submitted until 31 December, but they enter a waiting list that only advances if others withdraw or the budget increases, and they do not give the right to the grant. We have not been able to confirm how much of the budget is left in each line: do not wait until the last minute.
If any document is missing, the Ministry gives 10 days to correct it; if not, it considers you to have withdrawn. The details of the beneficiary and the vehicle written on the form cannot be corrected later (only the bank account): with an error there, unless it is an obvious formal error, which the Ministry can correct ex officio, you have to withdraw and submit another application, which goes back to the end of the queue.
Then comes a provisional resolution proposal, with 10 working days for written submissions (alegaciones), and the resolution of the Secretary of State for Industry. If it is not resolved in time, it is understood to be dismissed. Against the resolution, an appeal for reconsideration can be filed within 1 month or a contentious-administrative appeal.
Once the grant is collected, you must keep the vehicle in your name (or that of the renting or leasing company) and registered in Spain for at least 2 years from the award. If you sell it or deregister it before, the grant is reclaimed in full, with late payment interest, except in cases of theft, an accident or other loss event (siniestro), replacement due to a serious factory defect or death.
Can Managora apply for the Auto+ grant for you?
Yes. The rule allows the application to be submitted by a representative appointed by the interested party, authorised through a responsible declaration on the form from the Ministry's grants portal. Dealerships and renting companies can also do it, but not exclusively. In Line 1, the Ministry's system has already admitted us as representatives.
We check that your vehicle and your situation fit into the correct line, we calculate the grant, we review that the invoice and payment receipts meet what the Ministry requires (they are the documents with the most formal requirements), we submit with our representative electronic signature and we respond to the Ministry's formal requests (requerimientos) until the resolution.
You never have to give us your digital certificate. You sign the representation authorisation and upload the documents to us. If your company needs the de minimis certificate, which Hacienda's online office (sede electrónica) only issues with an electronic certificate, we download it: your company registers us as proxies in the Electronic Register of Powers of Attorney of the General State Administration and we guide you step by step.
If the dealership already submitted the application for you, it cannot be duplicated: it is 1 grant per vehicle. Our service is useful when you bought without anyone processing it for you or when you want someone to review the file before an error leaves it out. You can see the updated amount on each service page.

- 7
Respond to formal requests (requerimientos) and file written submissions (alegaciones)(10 days and 10 working days)
If something is missing, there are 10 days to correct it. After the provisional resolution proposal, 10 working days to submit written submissions (alegaciones).
- 8
Receiving the grant and keeping the vehicle(2 years from the award)
The Ministry pays by bank transfer after the resolution. Keep the vehicle in your name (or that of the renting or leasing company) and registered in Spain for at least 2 years.
A worked example
A self-employed plumber (autónomo) buys a new pure electric N1 van in October 2026 for €32,000 without taxes. The model is on the White List for assembly in the EU, but not for the battery. The invoice includes an Auto+ discount from the dealership of €1,000.
- Maximum amount: N1 van for an autónomo, €7,500.
- Electric criterion: pure electric, 50%.
- Economic criterion: it is not a passenger car, 25%.
- European criterion: assembly in the EU, 15%; battery, 0%.
- Sum: 50% + 25% + 15% = 90%.
- Grant: 90% of €7,500 = €6,750.
- If the same van were bought by a company that is not a micro-enterprise: 90% of €5,000 = €4,500.
The autónomo would request €6,750 in grant, which is added to the €1,000 discount on the invoice. They collect the grant by bank transfer after the resolution and must keep the van in their name for 2 years.

Frequently asked questions
Can I apply for the Auto+ Plan if I bought the electric car before the call opened?
Yes, if it is new and was registered for the 1st time in Spain from 1 January 2026 (or is another vehicle, such as a zero kilometre or demonstration vehicle, that meets the conditions). If you bought it before the period opened, the invoice does not need the €1,000 discount.
Does the Auto+ Plan cover the renting of an electric car?
Only in Line 2, for autónomos and companies, and with a renting or financial leasing contract of at least 3 years. Individuals can only request it for a purchase in which they become the owner, paid upfront or financed.
Do plug-in hybrids get the Auto+ grant?
Yes, provided the vehicle has the CERO label, but they receive less: the electric criterion gives them 25% of the maximum compared to 50% for a pure electric. Non-plug-in hybrids are not included.
How many vehicles can a company subsidise with the Auto+?
Up to 10 per company and 3 per autónomo in Line 2. An individual, 1.
Can I sell the car after collecting the grant?
Not during the 2 years following the award: if you sell it or deregister it before, you return the entire grant, with late payment interest, except for theft, an accident or other loss event (siniestro), a serious factory defect or death.
Is the Auto+ compatible with other purchase grants?
Yes, with other grants for the same vehicle that are not European Union instruments, provided that together they do not exceed 80% of its cost without taxes. This must be communicated to the Ministry.
