Legal basis and things to bear in mind

  • Legal framework: LGSS + RD 84/1996 arts. 20 and 27 + Ley 39/2015.
  • The VIDA LABORAL says when you worked and how many days you contributed. The CONTRIBUTION BASES say how much money was contributed each month, and they are what decides your pension, your unemployment benefit and the calculation of a severance payment. They are not the same document and you almost always need both.
  • The reports do not expire, but banks and public authorities usually require them to have been issued within the last 3 months.
  • If a period you did work is missing from the report, the answer is not to request another one: it is an application to the Tesorería to correct your record, and we handle that too.
