Student visa and estancia por estudios (student stay authorisation: Erasmus+, vocational training, language courses and volunteering) (Extranjería)

Student visa and estancia por estudios (student stay authorisation: Erasmus+, vocational training, language courses and volunteering) (Extranjería) is filed with Oficina de Extranjería / Consulado de España. With Managora you do it 100% online: you answer a few questions, sign a digital mandato (power of representation) and we draft, sign and file your application for you. Estimated total cost: €252. Official tasa (government fee): The official fee (Modelo 790-052 tasa, item 1.1.1, 10,94 €) is already included in the price: we advance it and file it for you.

We handle your estancia por estudios authorisation (bachelor's and master's degrees, vocational training, language courses), academic mobility (Erasmus+) or volunteering placements. A DOCTORATE does not belong here: since Criterio de Gestión 2/2026 it goes through the research residence of Ley 14/2013 before the UGE-CE, and the consulate will not accept a student visa application from a PhD candidate. We check that the institution is recognised, your financial means (100 % of the IPREM (public income indicator) for yourself, 75 % for the first family member and 50 % for each additional family member), your health insurance and your apostilled criminal record certificates from the countries where you have lived over the last 5 years (for those above the age of criminal responsibility, where the stay is longer than 6 months). Decision: visa 1 month; authorisation 7 days from abroad, 2 months from within Spain, or 15 days if your higher-education institution files it; silence means refusal. It allows you to work up to 30 hours a week alongside your studies; higher education entitles you to work automatically.

  • Traducción jurada (sworn translation) into Spanish
  • Apostilla or legalisation of a foreign document
  • Medical or psychometric examination at an authorised centre

Legal basis and things to bear in mind

  • For higher education the authorisation matches the official length of your studies; for vocational training and post-compulsory secondary education, pupil mobility and volunteering it lasts a maximum of one year and is extended year by year (art. 55.1 RD 1155/2024). We file the extension for you.
  • If you are going to do a DOCTORATE, this is not your procedure: Criterio de Gestión 2/2026, of 7 August 2026, moves it to the research residence of art. 72 of Ley 14/2013 before the UGE-CE, and the consulate will not accept your student visa application even if you have a grant. We handle that procedure for you too.
  • You will be able to work up to 30 hours a week alongside your studies; with higher education, work is authorised automatically.
  • If you later want a full-time job, you have to switch to a residence and work authorisation, which we also handle for you.
