We process your retirement pension application with the INSS (National Social Security Institute). It covers 5 types: ordinary, voluntary early retirement (-2 years), involuntary early retirement (-4 years), partial retirement with a contrato de relevo (relief contract) and active retirement compatible with work. We calculate your estimated pension using the contribution scale and, where applicable, the early-retirement reduction coefficient. This is a working estimate: the final amount is granted by the INSS in its decision.

Legal basis and things to bear in mind
- Legal retirement age in 2026 (disposición transitoria 7.ª LGSS, transitional provision 7 of the LGSS): 66 years and 10 months if you can prove less than 38 years and 3 months contributed, or 65 years if you can prove 38 years and 3 months or more. In 2027 the scale reaches its cap: 67 years, or 65 years with 38 years and 6 months contributed.
- Base reguladora (regulatory base): the average of the contribution bases of the last 25 years (300 months) divided by 350. If you have months without contributions, they are filled with minimum bases (integración de lagunas, gap integration). From 2026, and gradually, an alternative calculation coexists that takes more years and discards the worst months: the INSS applies the more favourable result automatically, and we check it when preparing your application.
- There is a maximum cap on public pensions that the Ley de Presupuestos (annual Budget Law) updates each year, so the amount in force changes from one year to the next. If your calculation is close to that cap, we confirm the maximum amount applicable to your effective date before submitting the application.
- The early-retirement reduction coefficient is PERMANENT: it is not recovered when you reach the legal age. Think it through carefully before opting for voluntary early retirement.
- Active retirement: Real Decreto ley 11/2024 changed the rules with effect from 1 April 2025. The percentage of pension compatible with work is no longer a fixed 50 %: it grows the more you delay your retirement beyond the ordinary age and increases if you are self-employed with at least one employee. Anyone already in active retirement before that date keeps their previous arrangement. We calculate your specific percentage with your data.
